Ray Pearson
Ray Pearson discovered his love of Scotch whisky earlier than most people. It was while at college, studying photography and graphic arts, that he decided it was time to choose an “adult drink” for himself. After sampling a variety of spirits, Ray experienced his first single malt Scotch whisky and was hooked! He knew he had found his drink of choice and, he had found his calling.
His passion for the magical and complex nature of single malts soon led Ray on a quest to explore all parts of Scotland and to visit scores of distilleries. Along the way Ray learned about the craftsmanship and people involved in the making of single malts, and established himself as a true expert in the field. He then turned that expertise into a career.
In the early 1990s, Ray began hosting seminars and whisky tastings. Traveling throughout the United States, he shared his knowledge at corporate functions, business meetings, consumer events, and Scottish Highland Games. In 2005, Ray was invited to join William Grant & Sons as Glenfiddich Ambassador, where he now represents the world's most awarded single malt Scotch whisky. As Glenfiddich Ambassador, Ray continues to share his passion with industry professionals and newcomers alike.
